Cellworks has created a Virtual Molecular and Synthetic Biology platform, which allows for "Engineering" Organisms to produce high yielding Chiral Intermediates. Chiral intermediates particularly of the kind Oxido-reductases that are made through traditional Synthetic Chemistry route, produce waste that doesn't conform to Green Chemistry principle. Worldwide there is a move to introduce Biocatalaysis and Bio-transformation to make these hard to make Chiral Intermediates.

This platform being built by Cellworks can also be leveraged for Fine Pharma Chemicals, Biofuels and Bioremediation functions. Synthesis of fine pharma chemicals and biofuels can be performed by novel engineered strains of E.coli whose carbon source and oxygen requirement can be altered to suit the specific enzyme mediated reaction.
